[blparent] Explaining vision loss to children

I think I had a bird that made noise. But nobody knew I was blind till I
was five or six months old and not reaching for things. So I might have
been given a regular mobile. I was in an incubator till I was a few months
old.

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young,
compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of
the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of
these."--George Washington Carver, 1864-1943, American scientist
