Hello all,

Just wondering who here as tried the Elimination Communication mottle for
potty training their kids and how that went for you? Even if you didn't use
this mottle but had great success, I'd love to hear what you did. My son
Dawson is 16 months now and just starting to show an interest in potty
training. We're not going to even try to get serious about this since we're
moving to San Diego in a week, plus he's not quite old enough to really
control his bladder and bowel muscles yet. On top of those two things I
read that one should never start potty training when your toddler is in the
"no" phase where they are saying "no" for everything. This makes a ton of
sense. I'm excited that he's aware now of when he goes potty, because 3
times now he has told me when he just went pee pee in his diaper. He's also
obsessed with a potty training video we have that I just through in one day
for fun and now that's one of the only things he wants to watch. Dawson
loves seeing older kids do things so that's why the video is so intriguing
to him.

Also, please let me know what potty methods and chairs you used while you
were away from home. I have a Boon potty bench that I love and think will
work great for at home, but I'm considering one of those portable folding
potty seats with handles that you can attach to a public toilet but don't
know how well they work. I went out yesterday with a sighted friend of mine
who's almost 2 year old has been potty trained for about 3 months now and
she just hovers him over the toilet to go pee. Even though I have good
proprioception and good aim usually, this method sounds a little visual and
messy if it doesn't go quite right.

Thanks,

Erin
