Thanks for that helpful info Jennith.  Let me know how those training pants
work for you.  Do you put diaper covers over the training pants?  My husband
and I too feel that gentle encouragement is key for kids to learn anything
new like this.  Our son may go in and out of being interested in potty
training for the next several months, but the more we foster his curiosity
with positive reinforcement, the better.  Just go with the flow!  Okay, I
couldn't pass that pun up! GRIN

I've been doing EC very part time with my 15 month old. I recommend reading
Diaper Free Baby. I read several books but it was the best, most
encouraging. My son has been using his Baby Bjorn potty a little.
We bought a potty book that we read while he sits on the potty, and have
tried to make sitting on it a positive experience. He understands what it's
for, and has even brought it in to the bathroom if he knows Mommy or Daddy
are using the toilet because he wants to join them! EC is messy, there is no
way around it, but the time it takes to put the baby on the potty is about
the same to change their diaper.

I still put him in diapers when we go out so I can't speak to the travel
potty. If you find something you like, do share!

I just ordered some Gerber cloth training pants , so we'll be transitioning
even more to diaper free. We'll see how it goes! The one thing I've learned
with EC is not to have huge expectations and go along with the process. I
don't expect him to be fully potty trained next week, next month, or even in
six. Just trying to show him that using a potty is fun and easy and that he
can do it.
