[blparent] Healthy foods- protein

Oh, seriously, I didn't know they had soy. A few years ago a friend of mine
was having lots of allergic reactions to this and that, so she started doing
some research and found that lots of things, including ground beef had soy
in it, they use it as a filler. So when I found that out, I started buying
chuck roasts and having the butcher grind it. At least I know they don't
add anything to it.

Yes, I tried those as a sample at Costco and liked them for myself, but
they'd be too spicy for my little guy. The surprising thing was that when
my husband looked at the package it also has soy in them as well. I was
really bummed!

You could always get black beans burgers, they tend to be spicey from what's
I've seen, but they are good

Unfortunately the Boca burgers do have soy. Costco has some decently tasty
veggie burgers but they all seem to have soy in them as well.

That's a good tip for the venison and another important thing is that you
don't ever want to over cook meat like that or it gets gamy. This is a meat
I always order medium instead of my typical medium-well.

If you soak venison in beer or milk for at least 24 hours before you cook
it, the gamey taste gets mellowed out a lot.

I've tried Boca Burgers, which were nothing to write home about. Don't know
if they have soy or not, but you could probably look online.
