Does he use a sippy cup with a valve? That will work. A chewy snack will
also work like some graduate gummies, or if you are ok with him sucking on a
lolly pop, or anything he needs to chew quicker than a cracker. You either
want his jaw moving, or him swallowing. If his ears pop he may be
uncomfortable which isn't fun, but it will undo itself a few minutes after
landing. Have a great trip.

Subject: [blparent] advice for flying on planes with kids

I'm flying down to so' CAL tonight and it just dawned on me that I don't
know how to relieve the ear popping pain for Erik. Last time I flew, I fed
him a bottle. The time before that I nursed him. He doesn't use a bottle any
more and he doesn't use a pacifier any more.
Any tips for helping him on the ascent and descent?
