Hello all,

I just went to the CCB convention this past weekend and learned about a new
company to me that I wanted to share with all of you. It's called Dots and
Dogs which you can find at www. <http://www.dotsanddogs.com> dotsanddogs.com
and they have great quality wooden toys for both sighted and blind children
alike, clothing, products for your dog, a great locating device for dogs or
kids and so much more. They were wonderful to work with and I got a
beautiful wooden game for my son and I to play called Feel and Find where a
person picks-out a coaster size piece of wood that has a shape cut-out of
it. That person then has to feel in a bag and find the shape that fits into
that cut-out on the coaster shaped piece. All of the matches are the same
color so sighted children or parents can verify if they've picked-out the
correct piece to make a match while the tactile shape will allow a person
who is blind to verify. All of their toys are very well made and equally
made for both the sighted and blind. I'm definitely going to be ordering
more stuff from them. There audible locator is something on my Christmas
list for sure because you can tell whether your kid or dog has gone beyond a
certain distance which you set on the device or you can switch it into
another mode to find the child or dog because it lets you know if you're
getting closer with vibrations and locator noises. For me, I'm going to
continue to be putting bells on my son but use this device for when he goes
past a certain distance. For those times my 2 year old likes to stand still
so the bells don't jingle, I can use the seek mode to locate him. Thank God
he doesn't do that very often because he's learned quickly that the fun ends
if you don't come or answer when mama calls, but sometimes he's truly
distracted like a golden retriever puppy and just not focused at all on what
I'm saying. Two year olds are funny little creatures sometimes. LOL

Take care,

Erin
