[blparent] play house advice please?

Depending on how handy you are, a box knife and duct tape can make a fun
play house out of the boxes the other gifts come in. My sons came home from
an event with these cute cardboard castles made from empty boxes that they
love and play with a lot. They used markers and construction paper to make
decorations for them and I did not spend upwards of a hundred dollars on one
of the plastic ones I had been considering for their Playmobil set. :)

Hi Bran. Ya, I was thinking the same thing about the pop up ones. I would
hate to spend money on one, plus the shipping cost just to have it fall
apart. I did see something else by Discovery Kids that I thought sounded fun
and more affordable. It's sturdy card board houses that the kids can color
and decorate themselves, then put the house together. Supposingly they fold
up neatly for storage. Not the type of play house that would last forever,
but something fun to do. I don't know how accurate this is, I'm just not too
sure. I did look at some of the step 2 items. Those are nice but a little
bit out of range right now. Thanks for the advice.

Jeri

I have seen a precious few that hold up. The wire often bends and then it
won't sit right any more. The kids try to crawl in windows, and rip the
material. Of course you teach them to use the door, but kids will be kids.
If it is for indoor I'd recommend a good kitchen set, doll bed and high
chair, and maybe stroller in the corner of a room. Step 2 is a good brand
for these things. If you want a house for a patio, or yard step 2 or little
tikes are my favorite for durability and appearance.

Step2 often has free shipping on some of their items.

Good luck,

Bran

Hi out there.

I need some advice about getting a play house for my kids. I found one on
line that is a pop out play house. On the inside is a play refrigerator,
stove and toy chest all made out of nylon. You can fold it up and put it
back in its carrying case for storage so it doesn't take up a lot of room
all of the time. I think my kids would love it. Especially my little girl.
I'm just wondering if it's worth the money. it's actually not too bad of a
price and I like the fact that you can fold it up and put it away when they
aren't playing with it. My hubby is not so sure though. Have any of you ever
bought something like this for your little ones? Thanks, Jeri.
