Ronit,

There's lots of little things you can do to tone up and lose weight.
I'm just going to bullet list here:

* The Bally's located on fremont BLVD has a childcare center if you do
indeeed want to work out at a gym and take little guy there. They also
have a nice little sauna which makes a nice little 10 minute sit down
after a workout.

* Lots of folks I know worked with a personal trainer until they had a
series of workouts they could do at home. I've done this and it is
nice.

* As a beginner, and now that you've hit a certain milestone age,
women at this age begin to lose muscle mass. so, whatever you do it is
vital you include strength training. This doesn't mean bulk up. You
can use small hand weights or resistance bands to accomplish muscle
toning. When you keep your muscles toned you actually provide your
body with the efficient fuel it needs to burn fat. Muscle mass is
required for fat burning.

* Along with exercising you need to change your eating habits. 5 to 6
small meals a day is preferable. A study was done using gymnhists. One
group of women ate 6 meals a day for a total of 1800 calories a day.
Another group of gals ate the same amount of calories per day but in 3
meals. The women who ate 6 meals a day, by far, had lower body fat
counts. Your body works best if it is constantly fueld with small
portions of food.

* As to what you could do from home--there's so much. I am no personal
trainer by any means, but have had over 15 years as an athlete and can
probably teach you 20 minutes of exercise you can do every day. But
for starters, you can do 30 good crunches in 3 sets of 10. You can do
30 jumping jacks in 3 sets of 10. You can do lunges across the room
and back, twice. You can do 30 squats against a wall in 3 sets of 10.
You can do 30 calf raises in 3 sets of 10. Becycle for 30 seconds,
twice. To isometric plank holds for 30 seconds. Do 30 leg raises.
stretch. That'll keep you busy for a while.
