When we go to my in-laws, we are always respectfully asked what our
child can/can't have.
If we are at a gathering, and he wants several deserts, my MIL will tell
him to wait, and let what he has eaten digest.
I was Blessed with amazing in-laws, they never undermind me, they may
suggest things, but they don't get hurt when I say No Thank you.
Grandma tells Corby you may be at my house, but as long as your parents
are here, you will respect there rules, and when you're alone, you will
respect my rules.
Our rules are identical because the In-laws don't want him to believe
that he can act 1 way with grandparents, and 1 wah with parents.
The only thing that is different in house holds is that they buy him
toys galore.
He knows mom and dad only gets him a toy every other month, but
grandma/grandpa gets him one every other weekend.
He also knows when we say no toys, we mean no toys.
He's 4 1/2.

"Parents give up their rights when they drop the children off at public school.
~ Melinda Harmon, U.S. Federal Judge, 1996"
"The plain fact is that education is itself a form of propaganda - a deliberate scheme to outfit the pupil, not with the capacity to weigh ideas, but with a simple appetite for gulping ideas ready-made. The aim is to make 'good' citizens, which is to say, docile and uninquisitive citizens.
~ H. L. Mencken"
"You are in the process of being indoctrinated. We have not yet evolved a system of education that is not a system of indoctrination. We are sorry, but it is the best we can do. What you are being taught here is an amalgam of current prejudice and the choices of this particular culture. The slightest look at history will show how impermanent these must be. You are being taught by people who have been able to accommodate themselves to a regime of thought laid down by their predecessors. It is a self-perpetuating system. Those of you who are more robust and individual than others, will be encouraged to leave and find ways of educating yourself - educating your own judgment. Those that stay must remember, always and all the time, that they are being moulded and patterned to fit into the narrow and particular needs of this society.
~ Doris Lessing"
"In 2008 America unnecessarily proved that they weren't prejudice. Now, in 2012 America needs to prove that they have the sense that God has given them. Obama must go! let's make a change.
Re-electing president Obama would be like the titanic backing up and hitting another ice burg"
Proud homeschooling/unschooling mom :)
