Oh and I was just remembering, as soon as Gab could read, coupons were a
favorite thing. Now, not so much! hahaha

Hello Bridgit,

I love clipping coupons and finding great deals.

In our area, I browse www.southernsavers.com which gives a comprehensive
list of the grocery and drug store ads in our area. What I mean is, the
grocery stores are local to our area but they also have ads for Target,
WalMart and K.Mart. I like the site because everything is in one place and
is very accessible with headings, etc.

I clip coupons from www.coupons.com but afterward, you may need some helping
labeling them if you use Braille or you could type them on your computer and
place them in an envelope in the order you have them on the computer. I
include info like what it is, amount off and expiration date.

Also, there is a site called Sunday insert preview, you can do a search on
Google where it lists the coupon inserts that will be in each paper if you
decide to purchase a paper. My thing is, if I purchase a paper, will I use
more than in coupons that what the paper costs.

Also, I purchase lot of items from Amazon under subscribe and save along
with Walmart. I compare both sites prices for the best deal.

Now, you cannot get frozen items, etc. but would save you in a trip with
cab, bus, etc.

Unfortunately, our area does not have a grocery store that delivers which
would be nice.

Hope all this helps and please write privately if you need more information.

Kind Regards,

Subject: [blparent] Question about coupons and ads

Hello,

Getting ready to celebrate Declan's first birthday on the 29th. Can't
believe it's been a year.

Okay, I have a question:

When I was sighted, I combed through daily and weekly store ads and
clipped coupons. Since losing my sight, I've found it very difficult to
do this. I like to budget shop and find deals especially when it comes
to groceries, but most of this stuff is inaccessible. And I don't have
anyone in my life whom can consistently go through ads and coupons.

I miss being able to do this, and I would love to do even more to cut
back and save a little money when shopping. How do others handle this,
and what are your suggestions, tricks and is there a way to do this
stuff that's more accessible? I've even found online ads and coupons to
either not be accessible or not provide the kind of info I'm looking
for. It gets very frustrating.

I'd appreciate any advice and suggestions.

Bridgit
