Try the Alpha Omega seat. It's lightweight.
Also, they make a thing where you can pop the carseat onto wheels so it
functions like a stroller. I'll try to find the link and send it.

Subject: [blparent] Convertible car seats

Declan is out-growing his carrier car seat, but they now recommend children
remain rear-facing until two-years-of-age. We've been looking at convertible
car seats that can be rear and forward-facing. I'm wondering what others
use. One point is that many are heavy and cumbersome to remove and carry
around. My husband and I are both blind, so when we go places on our own, we
have to tote the car seat with us, like restaurants. I know there won't be
an air-light one, but curious about what types of car seats others recommend
in our situation. We want a convertible so it will last for a while, and we
are hoping to spend
$150 or less.
