I lost everything but my emails. This includes my contacts. I am going to 
have to reply three times to the listserve to re-save the contact in windows

My husband didn't get glasses until he was around 7 or so. He had to get up 
close to the blackboard and as a result, it took him longer to finnish 
schoolwork. Like your mom, that was just the way it was for him.

My mother was prescribed glasses for the first time when she was around 
eleven. Before getting glasses she had no idea that other people could see 
the individual leaves on the trees when looking out a window, or that the 
wall paper in her family dining room had a pattern. All of that seemed very 
normal to her.

The kids may have no clue that their eyes are the problem. What they 
perceive is normal to them.

That's too bad tha the kids haven't interacted with the blind children.

One thing that the principal brought up was the fact that there are students 
that look like they are having problems with their eye sight. I told the 
classes that if they have eye issues they need to tell the principal. I also 
said that I would be willing to talk to any of the parents about issues that 
could determine whether their child is blins or not.

I got to speak to 3 classes a couple of weeks ago.  The difference between 
these kiddos and the kiddos I have talked to in the past, is these go to a 
school where there aare a dozen blind kids walking around.  The thing that 
was the same, these kids don't know any of them, so they still had tons of 
interesting questions.
