Rhonda,
I'm so sorry this happened to you both. A poor little four year old 
shouldn't have to go through something like that. No one else should either.
You have our prayers and support, for sure. At least those of us who 
are kind enough to offer that. I mean, nothing's wrong with reaching 
out to a community of fellow parents, and kindness and support never 
cost anyone anything...At least I didnt' think so.
I hope your little boy will be ok and that you'll be out of the 
wheelchair soon. If you're of the school that counselling might help 
your son, you should involve him in  a few play therapy sessions or 
something. It wouldn't hurt for a professional to help him cope with 
everything and sort through his feelings; Letting him talk it out is 
definitely the right move though.  I doubt he's gone through the 
motions of the whole thing yet. But that of course, is up to you. Best
