[blparent] Baby monitor

Yes, most parents I know have the night-vision cameras, and they don't
take pictures but are essentially filming the baby while they sleep. The
parent unit has a monitor that you can watch it on. Obviously being
blind technology like this is useless but cool nonetheless. Could I
still see, I'm not sure if I'd spend the money for these monitors, but I
can see how it would give some parents a peace of mind. Our monitor has
a walkie-talkie-type feature where we can push a button on the parent
unit and talk and Baby can hear it through his unit. When he was a
smaller baby, this would help sooth him if waking in the night or during
a nap. I would speak gently and sing, which he still loves, smile.

The IPhone monitor operates on the phone or IPad through an app, which
is free. With Wi-Fi, it connects to a monitor you purchase, which is
$70, at least on Amazon. This would be nice, especially since Ross and I
both have IPhones, and you can run it on multiple devices at the same
time. According to reviews on Amazon though, it's not a great product
with a lot of bugs. If it ever becomes better, this would be handy for
anyone using Apple products.

My sister had a pretty good monitor. Wow, there's some that take
pictures? I
had no idea! It makes sense with today's technology. It's so interesting
there's an iPhone app.
