Hi, all,
For those of you I havent had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is
Angela Frederick. I am a sociology professor at Rhodes College in Memphis,
Tennessee. Im also a blind mother.
Im writing to let you know that Im starting a new research project on the
experiences of mothers with disabilities. As part of this project I will be
conducting five small group discussions with blind mothers at national
convention in Orlando.
The small group discussions will last from 1 and ½ to 2 hours, and Im
hoping to have 6 or 7 moms in each group.
If you are a mother who is blind and who is currently caring for at least
one child under the age of eighteen, you are eligible to participate.
Here are the times:
Monday, July 1 (Seminar Day): 10:00 a.m. and another at 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, July 2 (Registration and Resolutions Day): 1:00 p.m. and another at
3:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 4: 7:00 p.m.
If youd like to participate in one of these discussions, please e-mail me
off list at Fredericka at Rhodes.edu and let me know which session youd
like to attend.
Please feel free to forward this announcement to other blind mothers you
think might be interested.
Thanks so much, and I look forward to seeing you at convention.
Best wishes,
Angela Frederick
