I used the two or three packages of premade bottles I got from the hospital
where I delivered, but I was never able to find them in the stores.
Obviously I'm long past the need for the bottles now, but I would have loved
to know where to get them five years ago!

That idea is pretty cool as long as there is no question that the formula
wasn't released into the bottle on accident like in a diaper bag or
something. Would probably be best if left on a counter top instead of
traveled with or at least that's what I'd be most comfortable with. The
premade bottles are nice in a pinch as well. They're a little expensive but
a life saver when you need it right away or for when you leave your baby
with someone so you don't have to worry about them getting the measurements
right or your baby crying for a bottle when they're hungry. With the
premade bottles, you just shake, unseal the cap and pop-on a bottle top with
a nipple. When I did supplement with formula I would often times get the
premade bottles and just put a nipple and bottle cap in a Ziploc in my
diaper bag. Otherwise, I liked using the formula singles that came
premeasured so you can just dump the pouch into a bottle, add water and
serve. This way you're not having to premeasure all this formula before you
go and make sure it's secure and not going to spill all over the place.
Just a tip, if you use formula, hit-up your pediatrician when you go for a
visit because they often have venders come by all the time to give their
product away for free.

They might also be nice for leaving with baby sitters. When you have not
mixed a bottle in years it can be disconcerting to be trying to put together
a bottle while your beloved grandchild or nephew is crying and hungry.

Just a little related tip, it is also nice to leave more than one bottle
with people who are going to be watching your little one for an extended
time. I was just talking to a frustrated grandmother who found herself
washing a bottle at 3 this morning while her little guy was crying and
hungry, and she was not happy that they only sent her one bottle. :)

I just saw this easy mixing formula bottle advertised and thought it might
be helpful for some of the newer moms. It's called the Mixie bottle- you
put formula in a compartment at the bottom and pre-fill with water. Then
when it's time to feed, just press a button and shake. That way the formula
is fresh on outings, and you don't have to worry about it getting too warm.
