Perhaps we are thinking of different circumstances here? Gabe seems to be
indicating an actual assault, but I believe the actual original topic was
about someone who was being a nuisance. Of course those situations require
different responses.

That is a weird form of self-defense. I've never heard of that philosophy.
In my self-defense, I don't aim to simply make the situation stop. I ain't
to make the person stop. Because if the person has the scruples or lack
there of to bother a blind man and/or woman who can't see and who has a
disadvantage, then who knows what else are capable of.
