[blparent] blparent Digest, Vol 114, Issue 1

Joe Elizabeth,
you said..
It occurred to me that every other day of the year, we tell our little ones
not to go up to unfamiliar houses, not to talk to strangers, not to take
candy from people they don't know. But on Halloween, the rules all change.

Exactly, and people are running around with masks on... any other day they
would draw attention doing that, but on this day people think nothing of it.
Maybe because I'm married to a lawyer, maybe because of the times we're
living in and the crazy people there are out there in the world now, but I
see it as a day that affords an easy opportunity for those who want to cause
trouble, in whatever form that may take, to do so, so I particularly don't
like Halloween and am extremely careful and observant on that day.
