Hi,

Ours has an iphone app where you can do everything including disarming and 
monitoring away from home.  It's with our cable company and I wouldn't be 
without it.

We have an alarm system and one of its features is that it verbally says
which door is being opened.
Our alarm will call the police or fire department if needed, and it also
monitors for carbon monoxide.
I'm not sure if this is what you want, but it's something to consider.

What brand of door alarms do people use here? I don't want anything super
annoying, but need something to alert me if one of the kids opens a door
