Hi everyone,
As many of you know I am expecting my first child due in March. Well the past 15 weeks have not been easy at all for me. I want to share this in case someone else dealing with this to let them know there are options out there to help. Turns out I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Hyperemesis is considered a rare complication of pregnancy but, because nausea and vomiting during pregnancy exist on a spectrum, it is often difficult to distinguish this condition from the more common form of nausea and vomiting experienced during pregnancy known as morning sickness. So it has taken many weeks to find out why I been so sick. I had gotten to the point that I could not keep anything down at time and in most case food of any kind was not staying down. While I was not a small girl before the pregnancy I have lost close to 30 pounds I started at 263 and I am now 235. After trying many different medications that are out there they put me on a Zofram pump. I received my pump yesterday afternoon and thus far I been able to eat a little bit. I do not feel as sick. I did not know this was out there so I did not know I could get something that could help so much. I wanted the other moms to know so if they got this sick they would know there is something that can be done. I will keep you all posted but please let me know if you have any questions. Sorry this is so long.
Thanks,
Melissa
