Yes, I have done it, but I thinka better solution is Glue Dots.  You can get 
varying sizes for various projects, anything from gluing on beads and 
rhinestones to household and hardware projects.  Visit gluedots.com.  These 
are dots that come either on sheets or on a strip.  They are clear.  To 
apply, you place the dot where you want it, then peel off the strip or 
sheet.  They are fast drying.  You can also get decorator glue dots.  Most 
are permanent, but I saw a product for removable glue dots, too, not sure 
what applications those would have.

I've also seen a product called glue lines, and I think are like glue dots, 
also check out Amazon.  I just bought some on Ebay.
