I wonder what the rate would be if you owned a car and got insurance on that car for a hired adult driver? (we are thinking of doing that soon.) Then you could add your son to the policy after the fact, and then perhaps they wouldn't consider him the primary driver. (I think the reason they might be considering him the primary driver is because you never had reason to get the insurance before and are only getting it now that he is driving.)
