[blparent] Inaccessible Ovulation Tests and Pregnancy Tests

On the topic of ovulation and pregnancy tests being inaccessible, I really think this could change if the NFB chose to get behind it. It is clear that most sighted people who buy these tests don't realize that blind people are unable to use them, and most of them would be willing to pay a few extra cents per test if it meant that the tests would be accessible to blind people. I don't think it would be too hard to build some sort of audible tone into them. The way these tests work is that if there is any line at all, no matter how faint, it is positive. So it could be a tone that starts out soft if there is any color, and gets louder and/or higher the darker the test line is. Perhaps to hear the tone you would have to press a button.
Or, of course, the accessible feature could be tactile instead. So in that case, it could be felt easier the darker the line gets.
Bottom line is, these tests touch the lives of almost all women, blind or sighted. And they are very sensative, personal matters, and blind people should be able to use them as discretely and privately as sighted people do, and should not have to rely on sighted people to use them. I really hope the NFB would see the importance of this issue, and push for them to be made accessible.
