[blparent] You might not need your carseat in Orlando

For those attending National Convention…

While some state regulations do not require you to use a carseat if traveling in a licensed taxicab, Florida is not one of them. However, I have good news for us parents that normally would need to fly with a car seat.

I spoke with a bellman at the Rosen Shingle Creek this morning, and he said that most of the drivers that wait outside the hotel have one, forward-facing carseat in their vehicles. There is no additional charge, and the bellman said that since several vehicles wait outside at a time, finding a car with a car seat would not be an issue. They offer flat-rate transportation for $10 anywhere along International Drive (up to Sand Lake Road, which is about 3 miles northwest of the hotel). This area is known as “Restaurant Row,” and for good reason!

You’ll need to inquire about car seat availability, though, for however you plan to travel to and from the airport.hotel.

See you in just a few days!
