[blparent] Helping children with homework?

Hello,
The only way I can think of to make this type of homework accessible, would be for you to bring some plastic sandwich bags to school with a pocket full of change. Perhaps, you couldget the classroom volunteer, to label the bags: problem one, problem too, problem three, etc.… You could work with the classroom volunteer to put the exact change that's on the problem inside the sandwich bags. This way you could count the actual money while your child is working on the homework. This would help you ask them how many quarters, how many pennies, etc.…

Another thing to keep in mind, this type of homework, is very short-lived, I have four children and the older three only engage in this type of homework for maybe four weeks of the school year.
