Hi Wendy,

I guess it depends on the age of the child, but one of the things we are getting our 18-month-old is a Chase Me Casey (I think from VTech), which I believe is a monkey that tries to evade the baby or child as it's chased. Her grandparents are also getting her something called Roarin' Tyler the Playful Tiger, I think this is supposed to make different noises as you play with it.

For my older nieces and nephews, my sole success criterion is how much the toy will annoy their parents. To that end, I found a game called Toilet Trouble which is supposed to spray water round the place among other things.
