It is. I don't remember what worked with my oldest
either, I do remember the "make it into a game" or "make it fun" didn't work
and I got real tired at having that suggested like it was supposed to work.
I do remember having a sense of humor helped a lot.

That's interesting, the singing and clean-up worked with my youngest, and I
can't really remember what worked with my eldest. I just remember doing
things together. It's interesting how different strategies work with
different kids and their personalities.

The game nonsense never worked with my oldest. My
second likes to have races so the "let's race" approach seems to work.

You might try making cleaning up as a game. Most children like imitating
their parents or other adults. Maybe if you participate with your child in
this activity, you might get positive results. HTH.
