[blparent] Parenting Without Sight - Survey - Revised Link

I won't deny that in my initial emails I did assume a lot of things, just
like any other sighted person. Judy Jones very politely addressed all of
these and since then I have no such assumptions that there is an "added"
danger to your infant if you are Blind.

However, every situation in life has its ups and down and even sighted
parents face several challenges on a daily basis. My aim was to identify IF
there are any different challenges Blind Parents face or if there is
anything they do differently. Like I said, similar questions were asked to
Sighted Parents about challenges faced while raising an infant.

My aim to approach you was so that I could get rid of any such started
assumptions I may have in mind and understand your point of view.

Nonetheless, thank you so much for your inputs and feedback.

Regards,
Alomi

I read all the messages. I am the person who runs all the NFB lists, so I

You haven't hurt my feelings, or anything, I just object to what I think
are your assumptions. I also think your intentions are good. You seem to
assume that being a blind parent is more dangerous than being a sighted
parent, and go on to try and identify those situations where it is true.

This helps perpetuate the idea that blind persons can't safely take care of
kids.
