> Subject: Blind Parents Conference Call Tomorrow at 8
>
> Hello. Here is a reminder of the monthly Blind Parents conference call. The call will take place this Sunday evening the 24th of September at 8:00 P.M. The call-in number is 605-475-4786 and the pass code to enter the call is 869480.
>
> This call is open to blind parents, moms, and dads, grandparents, foster parents, single parents, same sex parenting couples, essentially blind care-givers of children. The group is Blind Parents as this is the name assigned at the national and state levels of the NFB for this NFB sanctioned group. For clarification, this is a group, not a division. Divisions have officers, collect dues and are run in a way similar to a chapter. A group does not charge dues, does not have elected officers and is a little less formal. This call is targeted at NFB members, but non-NFB members are welcome to participate as guests on our calls. This call is primarily aimed at blind parents living in the State of New York, however those living in surrounding states such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Vermont are also welcome to join the call, especially as blind children living near to New York’s boarders sometimes attend our state’s BELL programs and sometimes blind adults living near to New York attend our state convention. The call is being run by Candice Attrill who is the treasurer of the Rochester chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of New York, a blind mother of two blind children and a member of NYPBC.
