I like pieces of jewelry that I can either wear on my hands or around my neck. Tomorrow I will be donating some items to our local Braille Challenge event where I will be volunteering.

> Hi all! I am going to be donating some jewelry as an auction item to our local Utah State NFB convention. We do an auction every year and there is a company that I am in love with called Novica. They work with National Geographic and find artists all over the world. They do what is called free-trade so they work with the individual artist to make sure that their product is high-quality and that the artist is getting a fair wage. I have purchased jewelry from them for myself and his gifts for family and I have always found it to be very beautiful and well-made. So this year I would like to donate a couple of items from them to my local Utah NFB affiliate to sell it there auction. I think it would be a fun way to help out two of my favorite organizations. I’m just curious if anybody has any input on what might be good to donate. I hope this isn’t an offensive question but as blind people do we like a particular type of jewelry style more than another one. For example, I really like bigger pieces and pieces that are more tactile because I find I enjoy them more. I love to be able to see my jewelry in the mirror and that means it’s got to be bigger because obviously my vision sucks. I’ve also looked at the Jewelry of my blind friends and they seem to like bigger more tactile pieces as well. I hope I’m not being stereotypical or offensive. But I would love any input any of you have.
