[blparent] Advice from other blind mothers who have had gestational diabetes during pregnancy?

I had this when I was pregnant with my second.

I used the Prodidgy Voice meter.
It does seem to require more blood then the Free Style meter, though Tap Tap
See wasn't around when I was pregnant with that baby, so I used Prodidgy
Voice.
It worked fine, it really does just take practice.
Know that fruits count as carbs as does milk, two things I didn't know until
that pregnancy.
Also potatos, corn, peas and rice also count as carbs.
You may also want to join the NFB diabetic list. I found them helpful,
though sometimes unkind, they didn't have much empathy given that
gestational diabetes goes away whereas the version most of those folks have
does not.
That being said, they were very good at providing instructions for testing,
things that worked and didn't work for them that you can test out. Use their
data, just don't go there expecting any warm and fuzzy interactions.

I know someone blind who has diabetes. They really like the prodigy voice
meter. It has a history to show you your past results for 30 days 60 days 90
days and maybe even longer. It talks through almost every menu. It is also
very inexpensive on Amazon.

blood sugar, and recipes or books that you found helpful to manage your
diabetes while you were pregnant. Obviously, this a lot, and it is a little
overwhelming. Any help would be appreciated.
