Hi everyone!

I have recently accepted the position of Director of Public Policy for the American Foundation for the Blind. I am very excited about AFB’s new focus on education, employment, transportation, and services for older people with vision loss.  I will be flying out to Washington, DC for three days a week twice each month and as needed. With this new workload, all the additional travel I will be doing, and the work on my Holman Prize project, I won’t be able to give the NFB Blind Parents Group the energy and attention it deserves. Therefore, I have stepped down as Chairperson of the Blind Parents Group of the National Federation of the Blind. I look forward to continuing to assist blind parents in any way I can and supporting the new Chairperson of the NFB Blind Parents Group. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped with the blind parents conference calls, started state and local blind parents groups, and otherwise helped me over the past year. I have enjoyed the work we have done and I look forward to working to address the concerns of blind parents in my new capacity at AFB.
