[blparent] Invitation to take survey for my dissertation :)

Mercedes,

Your request has already gone out to this list and there may be list members who are interested. In the past, we have received so many surveys, some of which were of a questionable nature, that we now ask that surveys be cleared by staff at our Jernigan Institute. I know this is more or less after the fact, but I am mentioning it because you received this same information when you posted to our NABS-L list yesterday. It occurs to me that you may not have known that this applies to all of our NFBNET.ORG lists. The text in the note you received from someone on the NABS-L list said:

The NFB requires researchers to obtain permission from the Jernigan
Institute prior to soliciting for research participants. You will also have
to show that your research has met IRB approval standard from your college
or university prior to obtaining consent from NFB-Jernigan.

The form is linked below.

https://www.nfb.org/research_participant_solicitation_request_form

or one could write to

research at nfb.org

for information. As I said, it is probably late for that now unless you are still planning on writing to a number of our other lists.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Hi again! I also want to add that I hope it is acceptable for me to make a
request for study participants like this. If I'm not mistaken, I think I've
seen this kind of outreach before- so I hope it is okay. Thanks again
everyone!
