[blParent] PINNA deals

Dear all,
I want to let you know about an app with loads of children’s content (audio) that I use. It is called PINNA. They even have a podcast featuring a blind character. There are lots of deals going on right now. So, if you are still looking for great gifts, this might be a good one. BTW, the app is largely accessible with a few unlabeled buttons. I use it all the time with my granddaughter.
*
* Give the gift of Pinna! - for the holidays or any occasion
* 3 different gift options - ALL are 25% off!
* 3 month gift is now $17.99
* 6 month gift is now $35.99
* 12 month gift is now $59.99
* URL to purchase and redeem: https://pinna.fm/gifts<https://pinna.fm/gifts>
* Special holiday subscription offer (found only on Pinna.fm)
* 50% off your first annual payment of Pinna - after a 4 week free trial!
* 25% off each month for your first 12 months of Pinna - after a 4 week free trial!
* PINNA also has a special offer to teachers and educators given the on-going need for resources
* 6 months free - no credit card required!
* With Class Codes teachers can share access to Pinna with their students for distance/remote or hybrid learning, securely
* A wide collection of resources and lesson plans tied to most Pinna Original podcasts
* Note: we are currently working on lesson plans for Opal Watson Private Eye
* We will also touch base on Opal Watson Season 2 launch (tentatively slated for July)
* Potential collaboration on a press release/media outreach/social posts, etc.
* Potential alignment with the NFB National Convention
NFB National Convention
* With over 10K attendees we understand that this is a well attended event and while we do not have our media and marketing plans fully ironed out for 2021, please feel free to share any marketing materials for the event for us to review
Pinna/Opal video
* We are so happy you enjoyed the video and hearing from Maya! We'd be honored for you to share the video outside of the Regional Convention but would love to make sure any usage is cleared with us prior - excited to hear what you had in mind! (I believe Karen mentioned it being played in a podcast)
* While we'd love the video to be played in its entirety, we'd be open to discussing any requests to use clips. These can be tackled on a case by case basis as we'd want to understand what clips and the context of those
Inviting the actress to meet our President
* The letter from President Mark Riccobono has been shared with Maya's mom but Amy will check in to make this top of mind
* Terri is going to write another letter from a personal angle (we recommend keeping it informal) to share with Maya and her mom
* As noted, any next steps on this is purely up to the discretion of Maya and her family
App accessibility
* We appreciate flagging a few buttons in the current app that have not been labeled. We are going back to our QA house to create a process moving forward that accessibility is reviewed on a more frequent basis.
* In the meantime, Patti will ask her team to smoke screen the current app and share the findings with us - Note: a hierarchical list or priority order would be helpful as any changes to the app or platform requires time and budget, which we'd need to balance in 2021
* We understand that an affiliate partnership depends on the app being accessible to the blind community so will provide a rough outline of addressing any findings based on the priorities (eg. adding labels to buttons is easier accomplished than potential other recommendations).
Other
* Code redemptions
* To date, we have seen 14 redemptions of NFBGET60 and one that converted to paying (let us know if you received any payment for this and we'll check with our finance lead)
* As discussed, this low number isn't surprising since you rightfully questioned how many would just want to sign up vs. bothering with a promo code
* Renewing the contract
* We're happy to send paper over as a formality but understand that accessibility would need to be in an acceptable spot. After you've had a chance to review Pinna in more detail, we would love to regroup on this to determine next steps
* Pinna Blog - aka "Hear This!"
* We launched our blog a couple months back and would love to extend the offer for having some posts featured by NFB members
* Terri you mentioned the importance of role models for your daughter to look up to in the form of Opal but are certainly open to hearing additional "pitches"
* We'd love to have this post live on all our various blogs - NFB, Terri's, ours, etc.
* Feel free to browse our recent articles: https://pinna.fm/blog<https://pinna.fm/blog>
* One that I think is actually really interesting is from Tara Altebrando, the writer and creator of Dream Breachers, who wrote about some stories belong in audio over other formats: https://pinna.fm/blog/the-origins-of-dream-breaching-and-why-some-stories-are-just-better-with-audio-by-tara-altebrando<https://pinna.fm/blog/the-origins-of-dream-breaching-and-why-some-stories-are-just-better-with-audio-by-tara-altebrando>
* January 4th is National Braille day
* Curious to know what you, Stephanie, usually post or do around this day. Happy to learn more about how we can support or take part!
* Accessibility of advertising
* As a next step, we'd love to set up a call with our media agency and you, Stephanie, to learn how to add alternative text to our social posts. As mentioned, Brie and I don't actually upload these so it would be helpful to have all relevant parties involved. (We do our best to add alternative text to all our blog images!)

Hi Patti and team!
Thank you so much for your patience in us getting back to you - and we hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
This week is a bit hectic as I have a conference all week but we have the following availability the following week - hopefully some of these times work on your end!
Monday 12/7 - any time between 3pm ET and 5pm ET
Thursday 12/10 - 10:30am - 11am ET
That said, in terms of the agenda, it looks good on our end. The one point that we'd want to make sure we cover is usage of the interview video (which may be covered in the Pinna video line item in your proposed agenda).
Looking forward to connecting.
All the best,
Sandra

Dear all,
I hope this email finds you well. Our current NFB/Pinna promotional agreement ends after December. I know that Opal Watson second season is in planning. I am reaching out to see if we can schedule a time to meet to touch base and discuss future collaboration. I have included all on this string although I realize that maybe we do not need all of us to discuss next steps. Who should be included in a meeting from Pinna and what is your availability to meet the week of November 30? NFB recipients please send me your availability and whether you should be included in this meeting. If everyone could send to me at pchang at nfb.org rather than replying to all, we will avoid email clutter in everyone else’s box.

Dear Sandra,
Thanks for your email. I plan to send over the agreement soon. As to the seminar plan, we offer sponsorships and at the White Cane level, $2,500, you can plan a one hour seminar which will be promoted and included in our agenda. We already have over 2,000 people registered for the convention which promises to be our largest ever. I asked Anna Adler to send over to you our final sponsorship opportunities package. It is also my understanding that our parents of blind children division is planning special outreach opportunities for our sponsors which should be of interest to Pinna. Stephanie and I spoke this morning and she will be putting together a plan for communications. She will be in touch soon.
Looking forward to building our partnership.

Hi Patti and team!
I wanted to send a quick note to follow up on the affiliate agreement. I hope you've had a chance to further explore Pinna and we'd love to know how your experience was. As mentioned, if we can make it work in time for the next Presidential Address, that would be amazing.
Additionally, we'd love to follow up on creating a session for your National Convention. Although we provided a few options, after reading more about the event on your website, we decided to narrow the focus. We feel that the most compelling and interesting content for attendees would be to focus on Maya Graves, who, as you know, leads the cast in the Pinna Original podcast, Opal Watson Private Eye, a mystery series featuring an 11-year old girl with a knack for solving mysteries and who happens to be visually impaired. In a pre-recorded interview, Senior Producer Nerissa Holder Hall will lead a lively discussion with Maya around how her own experience living with low vision gave her special insight into the character and how her confidence and can-do spirit put her in the right place at the right time to land her the starring role. To help shape the conversation, we'd love to invite attendees to submit questions ahead of time (perhaps as a way to promote the session) and will intersperse clips from the podcast to further round out the program.
Please let us know if you'd like to hop on a quick call or if you need anything else from us at this point! Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!
All the best,
Sandra

Hi Patti and team!
I hope everyone is doing well - staying healthy and safe!
Since we're comin up on the next Presidential Address, I wanted to follow up on the affiliate proposal and the Pinna partnership.
Per your feedback, we have gone ahead and addressed any accessibility issues to our app and the sign up process on our Website. We'd love for someone on your team to help validate this since we agree that this is a requirement before an affiliate partnership can be kicked off.
Additionally, I wanted to check in on programming for the National convention - if this was still an opportunity. I had shared a few thought starters in my earlier note (fireside chat, audio screening of Opal Watson Private Eye, etc.) but would love any feedback from your team on who the audience of the convention is, what they may be interested in or what you think would be compelling. We'd then plan a program more specifically to account for this.
Please let us know.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Patti!
Thanks so much for taking a look at the agreement. This is a standard agreement that we are keeping consistent with all partners.
That said, we completely agree that accessibility of the Pinna app and web experience needs to be fully addressed and vetted before the partnership can kick off. Realistically having that in place by the end of this week is unfortunately not possible. We'd like to make sure we do our due diligence and properly address any areas that need to be improved or fixed. While we are working with a QA house, we'd love to work with your team to smoke screen and test the Pinna experience as well.
We're ok holding off any announcement and truly appreciate your help and dedication in making the Pinna experience fully accessible. In the meantime, if you can let us know who to coordinate with on this effort, that would be amazing.
Thanks so much!

Dear all,
Thank you for sending over the proposed agreement. Can I please get it in Word. At present it is a bit one-sided, and I want to propose some modifications to make it reciprocal. In addition, it should be clear in the document that accessibility is a condition of our agreement. We very much want to begin promoting Pinna and will do so along our multiple channels as soon as we can confirm that the app and your web page are accessible to our blind members, and we can agree on language in the agreement. The Presidential Release is recorded tomorrow, but if we can’t promote on that day, we have lots of other channels and we have another release coming up in June. I have some time to work on this today and some tomorrow. Very excited by the possibilities.

Thank you so much for your patience as we work to coordinate details on our end. We absolutely would love it if President Riccobono mentioned Pinna, the special 60-day offer, as well as announced Pinna's participation in the National Convention.
We understand a few elements need to fall into place prior to Friday, so have provided an update on where we currently are. While we work to finalize logistics, we are hoping you could share what specific information you need from us for any announcements. Do you need copy points or do you need us to review anything that is already in the speech?
Affiliate Agreement
Attached please find the affiliate/referral agreement paperwork. Essentially it offers the NFB $20 per account that converts to a paying subscriber. Our current on-site offer is 60-day free listening (first month free after a 30 day standard trial) and will extend this offer to your members for consistency. Please note that we will eventually revise this offer at which point, we will provide an updated code.
