[blParent] Potty training my son

I potty trained my eldest son (who is now three and a half) and I also
highly endorse "Oh Crap!" Although you can hear the pee hitting the floor,
I just used a "sighted guide" so to speak (grandparent) for that first
intense day so that I did not need to be quite as hypervigilant and could
focus instead on keeping the transition positive. If that kind of help is
available to you, maybe consider it?

We kept ourselves in the kitchen and permitted lots of screen time for the
first many hours. This helped me feel less overwhelmed. As for him being a
boy, I don't know how much difference it makes because we're training him
to sit down on the potty. Lastly, I found the first day of potty training
to be the hardest day of parenting so far (and I have three kids), but by
the second day it started to click for my son.

Good luck!
