Greetings All!

My name is Andrew Neang, and I’m a User Experience Research Intern at Gentex and a graduate student at the University of Washington. I’m helping our team learn more about the next generation of accessibility tools and experiences.

About the Study

In this study, we’d like to better understand how people navigate everyday life, especially moments when vision affects something they are trying to do and when digital tools or technology-based support are involved.

What Participation Involves

The study will take place over 14 days through Dscout, a research platform that allows participants to record and share short videos of real-life moments.

Participants will be asked to submit 5 video recorded moments when vision affects something they are trying to do and a digital tool or technology-based support is involved. This could include an app, device, accessibility feature, AI tool, or other technology.

The total time commitment is approximately 4 hours, spread across the 14-day study period. This includes diary study activities and a final interview.

Compensation

Participants selected for the study may receive up to $420 for completing all diary study activities and the final interview.

Screening Survey

The screening survey will ask questions to help the research team determine whether this study is a good fit. Questions may include:

  *  Basic eligibility information
  *  Experience with low vision
  *  Use of technology or accessibility features
  *  Availability for the 14-day study

Timeline and Application

The study is expected to begin in early to mid-August.

To apply, please complete the screener here:

Privacy and Confidentiality

Your privacy matters to us. Anything you share in the screener and study will be used only for this research and will be kept confidential.

Only the research team will see your videos, diary entries, and Dscout responses. If we summarize findings, we will not include your name or identifying details without your permission.

Please Share

Please feel free to share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested.
