Greetings All,
As requested by the membership, we are holding an open forum for those
who wish to publically announce their participation in the CABS 2009
election on October 11. This forum will allow candidates to introduce
themselves and answer questions set forth by the membership.

A reminder notice will be sent out along with the time of the
conference call, and the call in information, so stay tuned.

The positions up for election are as follows:
President
Vice President
Treasurer

Therefore, individuals wishing to run for the above mentioned
positions may sign up to speak at the open forum.

Individuals wishing to speak at the open forum should submit their
names and desired positions to:
daydreamingncolor at gmail.com
by October fourth, so that a list can be forwarded to the moderator.

Those wishing to submit questions should submit them to:
daydreamingncolor at gmail.com
By October fourth, so that a list may be compiled and sent to the moderator.

I hope that everyone has had a chance to review the discription of the
election process sent out by Mary Willows. It is meant to menimize
confusion come election time. Please find a copy of that attachment
pasted below.

Elections:
1.	Elections are held according to the CABS constitution.

2.	Odd number year elections:  President, First Vice-President, and
Treasurer , in that order.  The terms of these officers shall begin at
the close of the convention at which they are elected.

3.	Even number years:  Second Vice-President, Secretary, and two
members of the Board of Directors , in that order.  The terms of these
officers shall begin at the close of the convention at which they are
elected.

4.  If the President appoints a nominating committee, the Chairperson
of the nominating  committee shall deliver report at the start of
elections.  All other nominations shall be taken from the floor.

5.  Once someone has been nominated, there is no need to second.
After asking 3 times if there are anymore nominations, the nominations
are closed.

6.	The President asks all those in favor of (name) please stand.
Then the next name and the next.  The person with the fewest votes is
dropped and voting continues until there is a newly elected officer.

7.	In the case of the office of President, the Vice-president will
conduct elections if the current President is running.

8.  There should be at least 2 impartial sighted people to count
standing voters.  When they are done counting, they should wisper to
the President.  The President will report who the winner is without
saying the number of votes.
