Subject: Web Accessibility

Dear Ms. Fowler:

My name is Michelle McCarthy and I am a first year law student at
Northeastern School of Law in Boston Massachusetts. My classmates and I
working on a project investigating web accessibility issues in the state of
California, particularly in regard to the state's social services websites.
We are concerned with the access issues surrounding California state
websites that provide information regarding CalWORKs, Food Stamps and
Medi-Cal.

I am writing to you today because I was hoping to establish contact with
someone from the National Federation for the Blind in California, and think
that as the President of the Association of Students you would be the person
most responsive to an inquiry from a fellow student.

Without getting into too much detail about our project, I was wondering if
you might be willing to answer a few questions regarding web accessibility
generally, and if possible, be able to provide me with any statistics the
NFB of California might have complied with respect to California's blind
population.

I thank you in advance for any assistance that you might be able to provide
and I look forward to discussing this issue with you further.

Best regards,
Michelle A. McCarrthy
