[Cabs-talk] calling all members of the membership committee

I would Agree with Bruce's idea of speakers.
This Approach works rather well for the national sstudent
division, and I believe would work so long as you make it
interesting. Make the topics conver a range of things either
blindness related, school related or neither. You might talk about
the philosiphty of the NFB in such a way that helps students
understand why we do what we do and who the "key players" are and have
been in our movement. you can talk about Dating and Relationships
(that got quite a bit of interest on the national level :) )

having updates on what the Board is doing Are good things, but if
those updates are kept to some kind of minamum or posted in a
newsletter, or posted to Facebook or twitter or all of the above
(but in such a way where people can get involved and the
planning/management piece of it does not become too overwhelming).
My expirience teaches you (a fact I'm learning with regards to
planning anything) that you may get some people who just can't make
a timeno matter what time it may be or will be able to make it no
matter what "act of god" takes place. That said, to quote the movie
"field of dreams" "If you build it, they will come"- just making it
interesting and people are bound to show up.
  That's my little opinion
  Respectfully,
  Darian
