[Cabs-talk] Helen Keller - the activest?

    Hi Darian Helen Keler was an activist for sure.  I've never heard anyone 
suggest she is an Icon of NFB philosophy but what I've heard of her 
activities did us more good than harm especially since Much of her life I 
believe was prior to any national organized blind movement.She seems to be 
kind of a poster girl for the agencies but I need to read more of her work.
My main exposure to her is "the miracle worker" both movies and the book.

 I  was reading something and  it sparked a question that I want to
pose to the list for some consideration and conversation.
 Helen Keller was considered a rather significant activest within the
disability community.
 This being the case, I have two questions:
1. do you personally consider her an activest/ Advocate?
2. what do we know to be  the NFB's stance on this/her?
I pose this  as two questions to get your thoughts and to get what you
understand to be the organizational point of view.
