Welcome new and longtime members to a new year with Vista Center’s Youth
Programs! Vista Voyagers and Youth of Tomorrow is a community of students,
families, educators, and vision experts dedicated to enhancing the
independence and confidence of youth living with vision loss.

*Voyagers Learn Safety with Kidpower*



Voyagers are partnering with Kidpower to teach youth the valuable safety
skills! We will learn skills and strategies to build healthy relationships
and proactive safety techniques for bullying, harassment, and assault. This
kid friendly workshop can be applied to any environment including at
school, online, the community, or work.

is the global leader in personal safety education for all ages, teaching
skills for strong relationships and the prevention of harm. Kidpower has
been providing safety training to Vista Center adults for several years and
their workshop is taught in a fun, engaging, and accessible format. Vista
Voyagers are very excited to partner with Kidpower for Vista Centers first
youth safety workshop!

*Youth of Tomorrow: Let’s Talk Resources*



Ever wondered where you can find additional stories about independent
living as a person with a visual impairment? In this session we will
discuss resources for volunteering, career exploration, accessible
technology apps, and podcasts to help young adults transition into
independent and successful adults. Perhaps you will discover something new
you haven’t thought about before and make new friends at the same time.
Let’s share ideas and help each other grow!

*Youth of Tomorrow: A Day in the Life*



Youth of Tomorrow will build on their informational interview skills by
meeting three experts who are making a difference in the field of blindness
education.



Richard Rueda is the creator of Careers Plus, a program at Society for the
Blind

that presents information and workshops on anything related to goal
setting, technology and careers for adults and youth who are visually
impaired.



Rob Schulenburg is the owner of Disability Solutions International

Cory Walker is a recent graduate with a Master’s in Special Education from
San Francisco State. He also works at Disability Solutions and was
previously employed by Wayfinder Family Services
