*Subject:* Service Opportunity for a Lions - Vista Center Project- Friday
July 30 and Saturday, July 31
*Importance:* High

Hi Vista Center team,

Sending this to all as a fyi, however folks based out of San Jose and Palo
Alto are the main folks for this opportunity.

Few facts as background:

   - Vista Center is partnering with lions International, through our Board
Member Bob Steward, and the title of this long- term collaboration
is *Recycle
   for Sight*.
   - Vista Center San Jose has been designated as the location for monthly
delivery of approx.. 1000 eye glasses, which are sorted, cleaned and
prepped for delivery to designated groups – International, Prisons and
other identified partners who will provide the eye glasses to those in need.
   - It is a win-win for Vista Center and the Lions, as it puts Vista
Center on the map for hundreds of folks who will be volunteering for this
project in the present and future.
   - Attached fyi is a Press Release.

How You can Help:

   - The next service days at Vista Center SJ are Friday, July 30 and
   Saturday, July 31.
   - We encourage you to sign up for a shift or help with gathering and
delivering the following to SJ to help with this project:
      - Apple Boxes are needed to pack and send the sorted glasses. You
can get “apple boxes” from your local grocer. Only apple boxes are
acceptable as it is the right size for International Delivery.
The box has
a cover and your local produce manage will know if they have any
for you to
pick up and deliver to SJ. Per my Lion contact “no banana or other fruit
      boxes are acceptable”.
      - Noted below is a link for Sign Up Genius for you to sign up
through the Lion District Governor, Allen King. You can indicate an hour
or more and if you are just delivering boxes, you can advise as well. If
you do sign up, please shoot off an email to me so we know who from Vista
Center can support this upcoming service event.
      - If you do sign up to sort, clean and help pack the eye glasses, you
will receive complete training, and have fun along the way as
that is how
      the Lions roll.

More opportunities will come in the future and it will be great for Vista
Center to show our support and gratitude to the Lions who are so generous
with their time, talent and treasure for Vista Center. Wearing your Vista
Center T-Shirt will be super.

Any questions?

Email me at aturner at vistacenter.org or call my cell at 650 388-0095. Lisa
is the facility Coordinator for this event and Lisa and I are in touch
every step of the way.

In gratitude for your support!

Alice T.
