[Cabs] CABS Call Minutes

Pasted and attached are the minutes from tonight's phone meeting.

The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. All board members were
present except that Laurie Pokin arrived later. Monika Reinholtz and
Maurice Mines also participated as general members.
Minutes from the last meeting were accepted.
Balance: $497 plus additional funds from convention fund-raising (approx. $380).
The treasurer's report was adopted.
The division will apply for chapter dispersement by Dec. 1 (Arielle
will submit membership data to Lisa)
Diane  will arrange for Marty, Nijat,  and Diane to sign  their names
on a new CABS checking account and the existing CABS funds will be
transferred into it (by end  of  December)
CABS will distribute information about the  CCB and Colorado Springs
Christmas parties to encourage students to attend.
Goals: seminars (spring and before convention),  regional seminars at
least quarterly
Regions: northern Colorado, Boulder, Denver/Littleton, CO Springs
State seminars: one in a place where there are less students, the
other in a more traditional place
Work with Chris Foster and chapter development  projects
Seminar at CSDB (Terry will initiate contacts) tentatively on Friday,
March 6, from 12-2:30 p.m.
Explore college seminars at CU-Boulder and CSU-Fort Collins
Combined parent-student seminar (work with Colorado POBC division)
High school student seminar in Denver/at CCB in early summer
Nijat will investigate getting a raffle item donated to raffle at the
2009 state convention.
Marty,  Nijat, and Melissa will work to update the constitution
(possibly adapting California Association of Blind Students'
Constitution) and present it to the CABS membership for reading and
approval at a future CABS general business meeting.
The CABS Web site is almost complete. The current URL is
www.mines-family.net/cabs
and  further updates will be made later this week. Marty will  submit
a president's welcome and CABS will figure out how to link to the
affiliate Web site.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
