[Cabs] Board Meeting Minutes

February 22, 2009 Board Meeting
All board members were present except Diane Filipe. Maurice Mines and
Chris Foster were also  present.
The treasurer's report was tabled until the next meeting.
Marty, Nijat and Diane will work with Lorinda to get CABS money
deposited into a checking account with Wells Fargo ASAP!

Terry will talk to CSDB about setting up a seminar for their students
when they are most available, most likely after their spring break.
Ideas to convey:
„Ï	Emphasize that students can do everything they want to do!
„Ï	What CABS/NFB does and why they would want to get involved
„Ï	NewsLine
„Ï	Find out how to either get contact information or bury the students with ours!
„Ï	Distribute CABS resource guides
„Ï	Board members telling their personal stories and answering questions
„Ï	Approximately 10:00-1:00 with lunch
„Ï	Invite surrounding students and their TVI's
„Ï	Small group topics:
„Ï	Planning for the future
„Ï	Dating and social issues
„Ï	Guide dogs
„Ï	Braille and technology
„Ï	Bring in lunch

The NFBCO scholarship program is currently accepting applications!
We will meet in person immediately after the NFBCO state board meeting
on March 14 at the CCB at approximately 3:00 p.m.
