[Cabs] CABS Meeting Minutes 9-27

Present were: Marty, Nijat, Melissa, Arielle, Diane, Maurice, Nimer, and Becky.
The current CABS account Balance: $469.82. CABS paid our driver an
additional $100 over and above what the affiliate paid, so our balance
will be $369.82.
Scott may decide to make the See’s candy program a statewide
fund-raiser at state convention. We may also sell Snack Packs if the
candy sale becomes an affiliate fund-raiser. We will decide after we
hear from Scott.
We will be returning to CSDB on Thursday, Oct. 15 in the evening for
an ice cream social. We will meet initially with all the residential
students and then meet with the mentees (juniors, seniors, and BRIDGES
students). Nimer and Melissa will obtain a list of mentees and then
Nimer, Marty, Melissa, and Arielle will meet to make matching
decisions.
State Convention: We will have a seminar on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the
afternoon at  the state convention. We will have a philosophy
discussion and possibly a technology presentation, as well as the
usual presentations from our state  president, national rep, NABS rep
and scholarship  winners. We may also have a college preparation panel
(with students, VR counselors, professors, etc.)
Maurice will recruit a representative from Denver Community Colleges.
Nimer will assist with the tech presentation.
Becky will look for a local VR counselor.
Melissa and Nijat will look for DSS representatives from UNC and CU
respectively.
Arielle will compile discussion questions for the philosophy session.
Melissa will submit a resolution on behalf of CABS.
We will all contribute door prizes.
We will give a Ray McGeorge award again this year.
Melissa will contact Brent regarding CABS Idol and will work with
Nijat, Maurice, and Becky on organizing.
The fair-for-all will be on Thursday, Nov. 5 just before the state convention.
We  will  meet again on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m.
