Cabs Meeting: Jan. 24

Secretary's Report:
Minutes were adopted from the last meeting.
Treasurer's Report: treasurer's report was not given.
Committee Reports:
1. Technology: The server now works. Nijat is working on index files. Website is in the process of being updated. Contact list has been updated. The state website is not update at this time.
Membership Committee: This committee has not met at this time. Proposed meeting will be held the week of Feb. 2nd. The committee Will discuss localizing seminars.
Fundraising Committee: Mickey mouse earrings, about 50 pares, will be sold for the 2011 convention. Arielle will talk to the local branch of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory about fundraising opportunities. There have not been any responses for selling candy at the UNC campus, as well as other campuses, for Valentine's Day.
Community Service Committee: Nijat, Arielle, Becky, and Melissa were present. They were talking about having a technology seminar at the CCB. The tentative date for this event is May 15thThe seminar will be called the College Prep and Success Seminar. arielle checked for the NFBCO twitter page, but it does not exist. Nijat brought up an idea about reaching out to the parents division to help us reach out to more students, but he could not get hold of Julie Hunter. There were also talks about having regional Social events in denver, boulder, etc. for students. Finally, there is an idea to have a social seminar for kids during POBC meetings.
New Business:
1. The CSDB Seminar wil be rescheduled.
2. CSDB lost 3 students. we dont know if there are any new students
3. Nimer has moved to Texas, so ,his mentee's will be re-assigned to new mentors.
4. Melissa has gotten in touch with the Imagination Fund for a grant to get funding for the mentoring program. We need to talk with Scott LaBar and Julie Hunter to discuss possible grant writing for the CABS' mentoring program.
5. There is an idea to have CSDB's band play at opening ceremony during State convention. CSDB students will be brought to state convention Thrursday so they can have a social event , where they will meet mentors and have interest-based activities. We need to talk to Brent about this. . Melissa will get the ball rolling on this idea.
6. There was a community service project idea discussed, where a group will be put together to sing at local hospices or senior centers. This will show the community that blind people can do community service.
