organizations in Central Ohio for events which are formatted and provided by
the blind. The purpose of sending out this information is to provide others
with visual limitations the opportunity to share in any program of interest.
This Info  is provided free of charge and is not funded by any of the

WELFARE ASSOCIATION OF THE SIGHTLESS

 

CHILI COOK-OFF

                 (Please, entrants arrive 1/2hr earlier.)

Each entrant makes one crock pot full of their specialty chili.  They will
be assigned a number.  The numbers will be posted on the appropriate crock
pot.  Only the fund raising chair knows who's.  (She does not get to vote.)
Each pot will have a container near where people will place their vote token
they received when paying the $5.00 at the door.  You vote for your favorite
after sampling each entry.  The entry who has the most vote tokens wins a
gift card to Kroger.  After the winner is announced, it's eating time.  

         

Menu:

         Bowl of Chili

         Fixins = cheese, onions, sour cream, tortilla or corn chips, corn,
or spaghetti

         Desert, Cidar or Coffee

WELFARE ASSOCIATION OF THE SIGHTLESS

 

The WAS is conducting a football pool for the OSU vs Michigan game held in
November.  It is a 100 square pool with each square costing $5.00 each.  The
pay-off will be at least $25.00 per quarter depending on how many squares
sold.  The more boxes that are sold the higher the pot.  The winner will be
determined by the last number of each team's score at the end of each
quarter.  Example:  if the score is 17-10 with Ohio State leading at the end
of the 1st quarter, then the square on the grid corresponding to 7 for OSU
and 0 for Michigan, whosever name is assigned that box, wins the money.
Boxes will be randomly selected to assure total fairness.  Individuals will
be notified in person or by phone which square they have been assigned.  All
entries (include:  name, phone # and money) must reach me no later than
midnight on the Friday prior to the game.  NO entries will be accepted on
the day of the game.
