Subject: VoiceRx Working for Blind Independence!
Dear VoiceRxT Partner,
I just received an excellent audio diabetes training resource created by The
Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland and The American Foundation for the Blind.
This audio resource about diabetes is easy to understand, written in
layman's terms, and tells how to live a healthy lifestyle with diabetes as
well as how to live with diabetes and visual impairment. It will be
available soon on our website at <http://www.voicerxinc.com>
www.voicerxinc.com Low Vision Center.
The VoiceRx talking pill bottle is now in the roll out phase in North
Carolina with other states soon to follow. People in North Carolina that
have a PBM service other than Medco or Express Scripts (ESI) can now take
advantage of this new talking pill bottle for their prescription medications
through the VoiceRx Pharmacy. VoiceRx is currently in negotiations with
Medco and Express Scripts to be allowed in their network in North Carolina
to serve the blind and vision impaired population with this medical
necessity product. If you have either Medco or ESI as your PBM --- you might
have to ask your insurer --- contact them to demand that they contract with
VoiceRx so you can get the talking pill bottle. The bottle is currently
being evaluated for accessibility by the American Foundation for the Blind
Technical Group and other leading blind associations. The cost of the
VoiceRxT talking pill bottle will be the same as what non-vision impaired
people pay for their pill bottles . . . FREE with the standard cost of the
prescription.

Below is my recent response to answer some questions that came up on the NFB
Diabetes In Action List Serve:
I am now working with VoiceRx, Inc. a major distributor of ProdigyR
products. I spoke with the people at Prodigy Diabetes Care, LLC and I want
to provide an update on some of the questions that have been coming up on
the NFB Diabetes Action Network List Serve:
1. Prodigy meter accuracy: Prodigy meters were recently tested for accuracy
by The North Carolina Memorial Hospital Staff of PhDs, under the supervision
of The North Carolina Medicaid Medical Staff. The entire data set from 10
testers, 3 meter types, 3 different blood glucose levels, 300 test strips
from different lots, the Relative Standard Deviation was 4% from the YSI
2300 hospital standard. (If anyone would like a copy of this North Carolina
Memorial Hospital Report, please let me know.)
2. I used to work for Prodigy Diabetes Care, but have transitioned to
VoiceRx. The principal owners of VoiceRx are the owners of Prodigy, and
through VoiceRx they have innovated a new way to assist blind and vision
impaired people to live more independently. VoiceRx sells Prodigy products,
and I continue to represent the virtues of Prodigy products because of
that. I am not involved in the day to day operations of Prodigy, but I can
contact
the people at Prodigy and get answers pretty quickly.
3. Prodigy Software - FDA Approval: Prodigy received FDA approval of the
Prodigy software on 10/14/11 and it is available now on the Prodigy website
at:
www.prodigymeter.com.
4. Prodigy IQ Insulin Pump + IQ Patch Status: Quote from Prodigy Staff -
"Prodigy Diabetes Care, LLC has diligently attempted over the past several
years to develop an audible insulin pump and an even smaller "patch
pump" for administering insulin via a cannula. Though Prodigy had
anticipated that it
would meet applicable FDA requirements for the products when it
introduced them at the 2010 AADE summer conference, the review at that time
indicated significant new FDA mandates. Since that time, despite
intensive research and development efforts, Prodigy has determined that it
is not currently positioned to make the necessary technological
improvements to ensure that operation of these devices is satisfactory for
the FDA and the
diabetic community. Therefore, Prodigy will not continue the
development and release of these products until it resolves some of the
issues it has experienced."
Again, my goal at VoiceRx, Inc. is to be the leader in accessible Prodigy
diabetes products, "blind friendly" How to Live with Blindness and Diabetes
training tools, and the VoiceRx talking pill bottle available at the same
cost non-vision impaired people pay for their pill bottles - free with the
standard cost of the prescription.
Please consider using VoiceRxT as your source for Prodigy diabetes supplies
and help us to help you.
As always, I am Here to Help,
