Synopsis:
The classic holiday movie White Christmas comes to the stage at last! This
brand new musical shines with classic Berlin hits like "Blue Skies," "How
Deep is the Ocean?" and, of course, the unforgettable title song. Irving
Berlin's White Christmas tells the story of two buddies putting on a show in
a magical Vermont inn and finding their perfect mates in the process. Full
of dancing, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, Irving
Berlin's White Christmas promises a merry and bright theatrical experience
for the whole family!
This production is An all-new stage adaptation of Irving Berlin's classic
1954 movie, White Christmas. It arrives updated with extra Berlin songs
("Blue Skies," "I Love a Piano," "How Deep Is the Ocean") and several
old-fashioned production numbers that feature a huge cast and a whole lot of
tap dancing. Given how the story is more about friendship and love than the
magic of the holiday season, the show may not seem very Christmasy to some.
But others will find its light-handed "tis the season" message to be a nice
change of pace. Either way, the production definitely looks and feels a lot
like Christmas.
Is White Christmas Good for Kids? It qualifies as safe, if old-fashioned,
entertainment for the whole family. In addition to Berlin's ultra-catchy
tunes, there is a lot to look at: colorful sets, elaborate song-and-dance
sequences and a blanket of "snow" that covers the auditorium at curtain
call.
