All,

I hope you all had a good Easter and now, let's at least hope there won't be much more ice to worry about on those sidewalks of ours here in Central Ohio!

I was talking with a friend who is blind today, and I was reminded about a resource I should share with all of us who venture downtown, especially at night, when we need to get to a bus stop, wait alone, etc. The Downtown Ambassadors can meet you anywhere in the downtown area and escort you to where you need to go, for example a bus stop, etc.. They are financed through the city, I believe, and their function is to keep downtown clean and safe for everyone; this is not a specific disability service, but they have no problems with providing a service escorting anyone as needed. There is no charge, and all they ask is 15 minutes lead time when you call the office. I think their office is on East Broad near the Rhodes Tower. Here is their contact info and hours of operation, and absolutely feel free to share this with others.
